These artists are coming together from communities in San Francisco to Taipei City and Austin to Hawaii with one common goal: to celebrate diversity and share their interpretations of the beauty of Asian American culture.

In celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Nordstrom has selected a talented group of nine Asian American artists to share their work reflecting Asian Pacific American-inspired themes. Collection: Albert Gee - San Diego, CA

My neighbor Albie has been really inspired to work on metal art and has really taken his inspiration to a level that really amazes me. The determination that he has gets me all motivated to do more art. It inspired me so much that I created this piece to show my appreciation for what he does.

"Abstract of Bella" by Sherwin Parayno

This is a painting I created around the time Bella was born. The shapes and and colors were inspired by random things around outside my downtown balcony view.

EyeCon by Sherwin Parayno
| 30x40 | Mixed Media on Canvas
Collection: Private

This painting is simply pure emotion and subconscious motor memory spilled out onto my canvas. Growing up, I was really into drawing eyes. Over the course of my lifetime, I have probably drawn thousands upon thousands of eyes. These eyes were primarily influenced by Japanese Anime characters like Min Mei and Rick Hunter from the cartoon series Robotech.

Although this piece isn't as technically sophisticated as my other paintings, it captures years of years of practice.

This painting was selected to be on Display at 7 Nordstrom Locations.

My good friend and fishing buddy in San Diego (Alan Ademis) wanted me to paint something that reminded me of rough seas. I recall going out to sea with him on an overnight trip fishing for big tuna where we took his boat out nearly 70 miles out in Mexican waters.

This painting is about people telling a secret to one another and each time it is passed along the story gets skewed until reality becomes fragmented bits of truth and story.
